So I know it’s been approximately a million years since I have posted, due to weird internet challenges, loads upon loads of work, and a voyage to England wheeeeeee! So ANYWAY, sorry to be so so soooo tardy on my posts.
To give you a brief update, the CHRISTMAS PAGEANT OF A LIFETIME AND GREAT CONSEQUENCE went really well. All of the kids were dressed like they were going to weddings, with ringlets, hair jewels and fancy silk shoes. One girl wore a straight up glittery feather boa outfit, and I wondered if I could find one in my size because it was AWESOME. They twirled and sang like champions, and I was oh so very proud. The best part was the little gift for the kids…that is an Alice in Wonderland play. What does Alice in Wonderland have to do with Christmas? It doesn’t. SO WEIRD. So Alice comes out and does some modern dance thing, one girl recorded herself singing (at a legit studio!) I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas, but the best best BEST part was the Cheshire Cat. He was our P.E. teacher (a former and maybe current ballroom dancer) who wore a patent leather tan suit without a shirt on underneath. Does the cheshire cat wear this outfit? I didn’t think he did either. So he comes out of the clouds of the fog machine (yeah, I know!) and starts rolling his shoulders and hips and smirking at all the young moms in the audience. Whooo did I almost pee my pants or what. I was giggling the entire time because it was toooooooo funny. Oh Russia!
So now I am in good ol’ England and this place is the BEST. Everything is cozy and quaint and people smile at you and are friendly in shops. Also, America needs to get Boots pharmacy over there. That place is the jam! I bought some boots that have soles attached and have purchased some immune system boosting products which are necessary to my depleted one. I am staying with long time friends of my parents who are the BEST and staying with them has been a true luxury. They are so nice and hilarious, and I have picked up quite a few Britishisms, as I have learned fully that American English and British English are two very different languages. For example, people often say “Are you alright?” as in “How are you doing?” Everytime I was asked I thought…do I look really sickly or gross or something? Like YEAH I am fine. Ha!
One of the best parts of staying here is Fran (their daughter’s) kids, Lily who is three, and Bobby who is not yet one. THEY ARE SO CUTE! Ahhh and so funny. I told Lily that I work in Russia and she said, “Oh, I don’t.” She’s the best and wants to read all the time. Bobby giggles and wants to pull on my necklace and constantly takes off his socks. They are just adoooooorable.
I also went to London, and went on the London Eye!!!!!! It was probably in the top five coolest things I have ever done, because you were able to see the whole city. I probably took one million pics of Parliament. I will post pictures when I get back to Russia when I can use my own computer.
I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas! Happy New Year!
p.s. My parents are coming TOMORROW to visit! WHEE WHEE WHEEEEEEEEE HIGH KICK!
